NETWORKING AND EXTERNAL FUNDING PARTNERSHIP OFFICE (NEFPO)

Prof. V. O. Aduramigba-Modupe

The Institute of Agricultural Research and Training, Obafemi Awolowo University, was established by the founding fathers to carry out applied research in agriculture and agro-value chain for the benefit of mankind, profitable enterprise, and to constantly communicate the breakthroughs to relevant stakeholders. The focus is the southwest Nigeria where the economic mainstay had been agriculture. Applied Agricultural research is multi-disciplinary, multi-stakeholders, multi-institutional and holistic and requires extensive and consistent collaboration with relevant organizations to source for funds for research purposes and ideas for desired technologies that can stand the test of time. Consequently, partnership at different levels of involvement and project funding is a common phenomenon in the Institute.

Networking and External Funding Partnership Office (NEFPO) has been given a crucial role to assist the Director in optimizing and delivering outstanding support for funding and resource opportunities, to help researchers compete and succeed in external funding writing for the Institute research activities. The office assist the Director with counsel on a wide variety of matters relating to networking and external funding partnership.
