Research Objectives

The Procurement Unit was officially established as a unit in the year 2019 with Mr. Isiaka A. Odebode as the head of the unit. The Unit is set to help coordinate and advise on all procurement procedures of the Institute in accordance with the 2007 Public Procurement Act. 

Research Focus
  • Collation of Needs: Gathering and organizing the Institute’s requirements to ensure they are met with the right goods and services.
  • Conducting Price Survey:Researching market prices to ensure that the Institute gets the best value for money.

  • Preparation of Procurement Plan: Developing a strategic plan to outline how procurement will be conducted over a specified period.

  • Placing Advertisements on National Dailies for Yearly Capital Projects: Ensuring transparency by publicizing capital projects and inviting bids.

  • Conducting and Supervising Opening of Bids: Ensuring a fair and transparent process for evaluating bids.

  • Procurement of Goods/Services: Acquiring necessary materials or services, supporting the Institute’s operational needs.

  • Budget Management: Ensuring procurement is aligned with budgetary allocations and financial constraints.

  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensuring procurement processes follow legal and regulatory guidelines, reducing the risk of fraud or corruption.

     The Following farm tools and research materials were procured, supplied and distributed.

  • On-Farm Evaluation and Promotion of Technologies:

    The following quantities of diesel were purchased and delivered to various stations for research activities and seed production:

    (a) 1,500 litres of diesel to Ibadan

    (b) 1,000  litres  of diesel to Ballah Station

    (c) 1,000  litres  of diesel to Orin-Ekiti Station

    (d) 1,000  litres  of diesel to Ile-Ife Station

    (e) 1,000  litres  of diesel to Kabba Station

    (f) 240  litres  of diesel to Kishi Station

  • Provision of Agricultural Input Transformation for Research Activities

    The following quantities of fertilizers and chemicals were purchased and delivered to various stations for research activities and seed production:

    (a)   70 bags of NPK 20-10-10 fertilizer

    (b)   100 bags of NPK 15-15-15 fertilizer

    (c)   40 bags of Urea fertilizer

    (d)   10 bags of SSP fertilizer

    (e)   250 li of Paraforce/Paraquat

    (f)   150 sachets of Atrazine/Atra Force Powder
